The objective of this initiative was to develop and implement an effective strategy to manage ERP Systems, IT infrastructure, handle customer care, and build brands for a conglomerate customer. With six different business units working under the umbrella of the customer’s brand, the goal of this project is to streamline organisation, security and efficiency for all website, IT, and software needs of the business units working under the client’s brand.
Achieving the business objective successfully involved overcoming various Software and IT Infrastructure issues. These included scattered code in different servers, permission level access, as well as a lack in proper documentation. The websites of the six business units were frequently crashing and going down which was negatively affecting the reputation of the brand name.
The client was looking for Trusted IT Partner to help them better define the IT process. To successfully meet the needs of the client, MCS must organise the client company’s digital Kpi’s and build the role level access to the server and software. Addressing these issues would help the client to mitigate risk for all the websites of the six business units that fall under the umbrella brand of the client.
MCS conducted an initial IT audit to analyse vulnerabilities to provide a cohesive presentation for the customer.
MCS created a version control to manage software code using Git.
Disabling the server level access for all and limiting permissions by only providing access exclusively to project managers.
Limiting all code management to be executed through version control and removing all direct access to the server to eliminate code or database manipulation via direct access.
Develop and implement version control to manage all software code using Git.
Develop a strategy for the IT process and provide set-up.
No direct update to the production environment.
Emphasising the need to first validate any feedback or fixes in a test environment and post which move to production.
Successfully developed and implemented a clear-cut IT road map, roles, and responsibilities for server management and software for the client organisation.
Clearly laid out IT processes gave customer tools and standards to keep software and websites functioning well.
Rectified issues with websites going down to avoid negative impact on the brand and its subsidiaries.
Prioritise continuity and reliability without any downtime or malware attacks on any of the six business unit websites.
Providing full control on KPIs.
MCS was able to fully address and satisfy the needs of the conglomerate customer and the six subsidiaries falling under its brand. Through the initial IT audit, the customer was presented the issues at hand as well as a viable strategy to correct them. MCS successfully developed and implemented IT process, software management, and server security for the client to rectify issues the websites were frequently experiencing.
